This mailing list contains postings on news and research related to domestic violence. People also post their thoughts on these topics, so this forum contains people from all over the spectrum and representing a variety of viewponts (so be warned, the views do not necessarily represent the views of SAFE). This is a good place to stay in contact with professionals, researchers, volunteers, etc! Typical postings include recent news articles on underrepresented domestic violence groups, new research findings, and new resources for abuse victims and perpetrators. (medium to high volume)

SAFE Media Corps
|
The SAFE Media Corps is a group of people dedicated to seeing more inclusive media coverage of domestic violence, coverage that includes women and men, gay and straight, young and old. Participants spend about five minutes a week writing to media sources and help persuade them of the importance of inclusive domestic violence services.

This online forum is for general discussion about domestic violence, and focuses especially on groups that typically fall between the cracks: abused men, same-sex victims, elderly abuse, sibling abuse, and so on. Postings are welcome without regard to what type of person you are: man or woman, gay or straight, etc.
This forum is intended as a safe place for people to talk about their experiences and points of view. Please be respectful and courteous to other points of view. Inflamatory postings will be deleted, so don't waste your time and ours.
These posting will be deleted:
1) Swearing or profanity.
2) Putting down other posters.
(not okay: he is a wimp, so...)
3) Racist or sexist postings.
4) Advocating violence.
(not okay: you just need to slap him/
her back)
5) Posting unrelated to the topic of
domestic violence, such as commercial
advertisements.
6) Naming names (make all names anonymous)
Postings which do not follow these rules will be promptly deleted.
